Frequently
Asked Questions
- Where
will the games be played?
-- All league games will be played at schools in the Spokane Valley
or at Plantes Ferry Soccer Complex.
- Where
will practices be? -- The Junior Academy program will
include both club training and team practices. Weekly Club training
will be at Plantes Ferry Soccer Complex and team practices will
be determined by the coach.
- Who
will the Junior Academy teams be playing? -- Our teams
will be playing in the SpVJSA Recreational League against SpVJSA
recreational teams and the recreational teams of the other clubs.
- How
will teams be formed? -- There are no tryouts with this
program. Unlike previous years where clubs
determined the team, all teams will be formed by the SpVJSA Registrar.
Priority is given to returning players who register between May
1st and June 30th. New players will be placed on neighborhood
teams when possible. All players registering after Jun 30th will
be placed on teams on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Why
is there a cost difference between the Junior Academy teams and
the SpVJSA recreational teams? -- Like the SpVJSA recreational
program, our registration fee includes WSYSA player insurance,
referees, field cost and uniform. In addition, our Junior Academy
program provides access to our high level coaching staff and goalkeeper
training.
- Is
there any hidden cost for this program? -- Our program
fees cover league and club training. The only extra costs would
come from optional activites such as indoor soccer and tournaments
- Is
there any type of financial assistance is available? --
Soccerships are available on a limited basis based on need.
- Are
play-ups allowed? -- Limited play-up positions are available
with this program. Those wishing to play up need to submit a play-up
form to the SpVJSA Registrar care of the SpVJSA office. Program
limitations may make it impossible to place play-ups on neighborhood
teams.
